Intensive Couples Therapy for
Pregnancy or Infant Loss

Helping couples heal and reconnect after pregnancy or infant loss.

Will you be there for me when I need you most?

You’re not just grieving the child — you’re grieving the connection, the laughter, the warmth, the closeness that used to flow effortlessly between you. You may feel like you’re no longer the couple you were, unable to reach each other, trapped in your grief, unsure how to even talk about it. One of you may be spilling your grief out, while the other holds it all in, grieving alone. Or maybe, both of you have become numb, unsure how to even begin healing together. These emotional walls — the isolation, the anger, the confusion — they’re real, but they don't have to remain.

Let’s Tear Down the Walls and Talk About Your Child

I know the silence feels like it’s suffocating you both. You’ve stopped talking because you’re afraid of pushing each other further away, or maybe one of you talks and the other shuts down, leaving everything unresolved. The emotional numbness makes everything feel distant, like you’re both carrying this heavy grief, but without the comfort of each other. Maybe you’ve started resenting your partner for not grieving “the right way” or for not offering the support you so desperately need. You’re stuck, frustrated, and unsure how to move forward.

You’re the two people who knew your child in ways no one else could — the flutter of their heartbeat, the dreams of their future, or the brief moments you held them close. And yet, you can't find the words to talk about it. Let me help you start talking again — about the love, the loss, and the grief you’re carrying together.

It's Time to Stop Caring for Everyone But Each Other.

When you're losing a pregnancy or a child, it’s easy to slip into caretaking mode — focusing on the needs of surviving children, holding your partner up, keeping the world around you from collapsing. You might even hold back from talking about your baby or expressing your grief, fearing it will burden others further. In the midst of holding everyone else up, your own sadness gets buried. You're so focused on being strong for others that you can’t even reach your own grief — it feels too heavy, too much to bear alone. Now, it’s time to open up that sadness, to let your partner hold it with you, and share the weight of it together. You don’t have to carry this alone anymore.

What We'll Do In Intensive Therapy

We’ll create a space where you can finally talk about your baby, your loss, and the heartache that has been building inside. Together, we’ll explore the deepest corners of your heart—the anger, sadness, and frustration—and express those emotions in a way that feels alive in the room, so your partner can truly hear and take them in.

When you can send your partner a clearer message to come close, you’ll find the ability to grieve together. Through targeted exercises, I’ll help you share even the hardest emotions, like disappointment and anger, with honesty and vulnerability—without pushing your partner away. As you open up, your partner will finally be able to understand what you’re truly feeling.

Session by session, we’ll build momentum. I’ll guide you in uncovering your softer feelings and, when necessary, help you apologize for any moments of unskilled behavior. If you feel wounded, I’ll support you in looking into your partner’s eyes, seeing your hurt reflected back, and knowing your pain is now their pain.

These powerful moments of connection happen in session, helping you rebuild trust, intimacy, and the sense of safety that grief has made so hard to reach. It’s time to start grieving together, side by side, in a way that brings you closer.

You don’t have to do this alone anymore. Through EFT, we’ll help you rebuild your connection —

one step, one conversation, one vulnerable moment at a time.

When you support each other, you can

carry your child’s memory together.

What does a
couples therapy intensive for loss include?

Pre - intensive intake session

In our initial 90-minute session, we’ll focus on the unique dynamics of your relationship as you navigate grief and loss. We’ll talk about the moments that brought you together — how you connected before this heartbreak — and how this loss has shifted your bond. We’ll explore how you’re coping with the grief differently — whether one of you is trying to talk through the pain while the other shuts down, or perhaps you’re both emotionally distant and unsure how to bridge the gap. We’ll dive into the specific challenges you’re facing, such as feeling like you're grieving alone, unspoken resentment, or the overwhelming silence that’s settled between you. Together, we’ll clarify your goals for healing — whether it’s learning to grieve together, rebuilding trust that’s been shaken, or simply reconnecting emotionally after feeling lost.

Intensive day individual sessions

In your first intensive, we’ll start with two 45-minute individual sessions. We’ll explore how your personal histories and past experiences are shaping how you each cope with your grief. We’ll identify emotional patterns, unpack the pain of your loss, and clarify your goals for healing — whether that’s rebuilding trust, improving communication, or learning to grieve together. Subsequent intensives may not include individual sessions, and instead will be replaced by a 90-minute couples session.

Intensive day couples sessions

During your one-, two-, or three-day Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) couples intensive, you’ll participate in hands-on exercises like pinpointing the triggers behind recurring arguments or practicing how to check in with your emotional state before speaking. Through heartfelt conversations about unmet needs, past hurts, and shared dreams, you and your partner will explore your emotional experiences and start creating a stronger, more connected bond.

Together, we’ll challenge negative cycles—like withdrawing or escalating during conflicts—and work toward building a stronger, more secure bond.

*Even if you don’t see yourself as “emotional,” if you breathe, you feel. My role is to help you express those feelings in a way that feels natural and authentic to you.

Clients must be in Massachusetts for their intensive.  All intensives are online.  No travel costs, no extra expenses. Make sure to have a quiet, secure location for your intensive.  Turn off all notifications on the device you'll be using.  When you're meeting as a couple, you'll need a laptop or desktop for those sessions.  You'll each meet with me individually and phones can be used for this purpose.

What if we need to reschedule?

A non-refundable 50% deposit is required to secure your appointment. The remaining balance will be charged the day before your intensive.

I understand that sometimes life gets in the way of our best intentions.
Since the scheduling of an appointment involves setting aside time especially for you, a minimum of 48 hours notice is required for rescheduling or cancellation of your intensive.  If you cancel with less than 48 hours notice, I will keep your deposit.  If you can reschedule your intensive within 3 months your deposit will be applied to your rescheduled intensive.
